These Easter eggs are crafted from chocolate and filled with a mixture of cream and liqueur, creating a delightful combination of flavors. The preparation time is about 30 minutes, plus chilling time, and the recipe yields approximately 12 eggs.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate or milk chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup liqueur of choice (e.g., Baileys, rum, or vodka)
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles or edible glitter for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  2. Prepare the Molds: Lightly grease Easter egg molds with cooking spray or use silicone molds for easy removal.
  3. Coat the Molds: Using a brush or spoon, coat the inside of the molds with melted chocolate. Ensure an even layer and let it set in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
  4. Make the Filling: In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, liqueur, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and slightly thickened.
  5. Fill the Eggs: Once the chocolate shells have set, fill each egg half with the cream mixture, leaving a little space at the top.
  6. Seal the Eggs: Cover the filling with more melted chocolate to seal the eggs. Smooth the tops and refrigerate until fully set, about 30 minutes.
  7. Unmold and Decorate: Carefully remove the eggs from the molds. Decorate with sprinkles or edible glitter if desired. Serve chilled.
